Gerald (“Jerry”) Lawrence ScapperottiApril 8, 1936 - February 20, 2011Gerald (“Jerry”) Lawrence Scapperotti, 74, of Norwalk, husband of Beverly Sampson Scapperotti, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 following a long illness. Born April 8, 1936 in New Rochelle, NY, he was son of the late Lawrence and Elsie Marucci Scapperotti. Mr. Scapperotti attended school in New Rochelle and went on to William and Mary College in Virginia. He then entered into 4 years’ service in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a Corpsman. Mr. Scapperotti later owned several businesses and has worked for as General Manager for Oak Beverages Inc. where he has been employed for the past 30 years. In addition to his loving wife Beverly, he is survived by his sister Rosemary Scapperotti, his brother Richard Scapperotti, sister-in-law Carolanne and by a nephew James and his wife Deanna. Friends may call on Thursday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk. Mrs. Scapperotti, I am so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember your husbands infectious smile and his genuine personality. Dear Sam,I worked with Jerry at Oak for 25 years,We have lost many over the years but Jerry and I were the Iron men.I have lots of fond memories and he will be missed.Stay strong.
