Guy R. Wetmore, Sr.July 19, 1926 - July 28, 2011Guy R. Wetmore, Sr., 85, of Norwalk, died Thursday, July 28th, in Norwalk Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy Kish Wetmore for over 62 years. Born in Norwalk, July 19, 1926 son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Cullen Wetmore, Mr. Wetmore was a life long Norwalk resident. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army; serving aboard the troop transport, U. S. S. Hermitage, in the Pacific. Mr. Wetmore was a supervisor with the Southern New England Telephone Company; retiring in the 1980’s after 37 years with the company. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club since 1961. Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter; Karen Carpenter, and her husband, Don, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, two sons; Gary Wetmore and his wife, Mary Beth, of Norwalk, Gregory Wetmore and his wife, Barbara, of Danbury, one brother Walter Wetmore and his wife Daisy, of Norwalk, a sister; Elaine Symonds, of So. Carolina, eight grandchildren; Jason Musco, Dr. Jonathan Musco, Paul Musco, Jr., Jennifer Cantrell, Matthew and Andrew Wetmore, Kevin and Charlie Wetmore, and a great granddaughter; Elizabeth Musco. Mr. Wetmore is predeceased a son; Guy R. Wetmore, Jr., two siblings; Alfred Wetmore and Jean Delia. Dear Mrs. Wetmore and family, I want to express our sincere sympathy for your loss. i was sorry to hear of guys passing he was a great person knew him through cl&p i was a lineman and ran into him on jobs he was a great help in getting me started in lobstering as a hobby and i will remember him always as a friend
