David M. Torre, 58, life-long resident of Norwalk, Ct passed away on August 7, 2011 at the V. A. Hospital in West Haven, CT, peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Norwalk on July 1, 1953, he was son of the late Anthony Torre Sr. and Mary Pataki Torre.
David graduated from Brien McMahon High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a self-employed dry wall contractor for 34 years. In his spare time he loved golf, fishing, hunting and spending time on his boat. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Pastime Club in Norwalk and also a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.
David is survived by his wife Michelle Saponare-Torre, his brothers Albert Torre & Anthony Torre, his sisters-in-law Teresa Moses, Marinanne Saponare and her husband Henry Duncan. He is also survived by his God daughter Olivia, his niece Vivian and several nephews.
David was a strong man who battled his cancer until the end.

Dave was a great guy! Very sad to hear he is no longer with us. Our thoughts & prayers for Michele and his family at this time of grief.
I will always remember my last conversation with David – fall 2010 at Rite Aid on East Ave. We talked of the economy and politics. We agreed on many of the topics expressed. When we parted we looked at each other and gently touched each other on the shoulder. I knew then I may never see him again. God bless you Dave.
Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss…my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. I will always remember my hunting and fishing trips with Dave. He was always fun to be with, and we had great times.
My sympathies to Dave’s wife & family. Dave did sheetrock & plaster jobs on my house for almost 20 years. I always loved it when he came – he was such a craftsman, he practically didn’t need to sand, his work was so smooth. Dave was always cheerful and considerate in keeping his appointments. I really miss him! He went way too young.

I went to school with Anthony, and I didn’t know David that well. But we all grew up in South Norwalk! The family will be in my prayers and thoughts. Rest in peace, David.
