Devoted husband of Shirley (and the late Alma), father of Jody Doman, Abbe Simons, and Joshua (Christine) Kestenbaum, stepfather to Faith Epstein and Jill London, Zayde to Seth & Lindsay Fradkoff, Amanda Doman, Carlin Kestenbaum and Lawrence & Marshall Epstein. Born in Hunter, New York to the late Joseph & Bess Kestenbaum. Predeceased by his brothers Steve and Jack. A veteran of the US Navy, he served in WWII. Leo was the founder of Maggie’s and Countdown of CT. A past commander of Chapter 141 of the Jewish War Veterans (Norwalk, CT). A former member of Rolling Hills Country Club, Leo enjoyed many rounds of golf and finding many golf balls. Leo loved travel and visited over eighty countries with Shirley. But, above everything, Leo’s lasting legacy will be his love and commitment to his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 14th, at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Interment will follow in the Beth El Memorial Park Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT. The family will be sitting Shiva at 7:00PM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, at the family residence in Shelton, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, CT. My sincerest condolences to the Kestenbaum family. Even tough I’ve known him a short time, I could see he was a kind, generous, compassionate and gentle person; who always had something funny to say. It hurts to know he is gone . I will miss him greatly. God bless you all.
