Essma Daher

Essma Daher 92, of Norwalk, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Masonicare of Wallingford, CT. Born September 6, 1919 she was daughter of the late Shaheen and Sophia Toomey Daher.

Ms. Daher was a career telephone operator and trainer at Southern New England Telephone. She was also an active member of St. Joseph Church in Norwalk and a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes as well as being involved in several charities.

She is survived by her 12 nieces and nephews: Mary Daher of Milford, Loretta Daher of Stratford, George Daher of North Haven, Peter Daher of Norwalk, Chris Daher and his wife Carolyn of Wilton, Laura Daher of Stratford, John Daher and his wife Elizabeth of Norwalk, Elizabeth Shea of Milford, Paula Santo and her husband Rusty of Norwalk, Kathy Vayda and her husband David of Stratford, Richard Daher of Pennsylvania, and Thomas Daher of Norwalk. She is also survived by many, many great nieces and nephews and by her special sister-in-law Jean Daher of Norwalk. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Roddy Daher.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 85 South Main Street, South Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
