October 27, 1937 - February 26, 2012

Andrestin Lauture, “Ton Destin” age 74, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 26 at the Norwalk Hospital.

He was born October 27, 1937 in La Vallée de Jacmel, Haiti to the late Raphael Lauture and Estalie (Printemps) Lauture. He married Antonine (Jean Louis) in 1962 and in 1970 moved to Stamford, CT.  He worked for many years at F.A.G. Bearings and also as a master auto mechanic. Andrestin later worked as a taxi driver—fondly known to all as “Car 10”.  He retired to Stone Mountain, GA in 1997.

He was a gentle soul with a tender heart, always ready to lend a hand and was caring and affectionate.  His hobby was working on cars. He enjoyed his cup of Bustelo coffee, music and dancing. He will never be forgotten and will be missed by his devoted wife, Antonine, his loving children; Dariana Lauture, Ernst Lauture (Rolande), and Mario Lauture and Edwidge Powell (Craig); 10 grandchildren, Jasminme, Chaz, Rheynna, Isaac, Travis, DeOndre, Zachary,Carson, Priscille and Rudolph; His sisters Andreanna Cebert and Andreenne Paulemon (Guillaume); as well as a host of cousins and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Andrea Stephenson and Charlotte Smith. Papa, we love you and you will always be in our hearts.

  • Ton Destin, you are gone but will never be forgotten. Whenever I think of you, I smile. I have so many fond memories of you. I remember when you took me to get my driver’s license, and because of you I was able to get it on the first try. Oh, and not to forget the motor cycle ride! You always loved to be the entertainer.
    Your journey on earth is now over. You are finally home, where you will be enjoying perfect happiness for eternity.
    Ton Destin, so long, we will see each other again at our Father’s house, in the mean time, enjoy the he heavenly banquet.
