    Angelina Buono Mattera


    November 16, 1933 ~ February 4, 2014

     

    Angelina Buono Mattera, 80, of Norwalk, wife of Angelo Mattera, died Tuesday, February 4th, at Norwalk Hospital.

                Born in Norwalk, November 16, 1933, daughter of the late Frank and Raffaela Taliercio Buono, Mrs. Mattera was a life-long city resident. She had been an employee of  the Perkin Elmer Corporation; also worked part time at the Notre Dame School Sisters Mother House. Mrs. Mattera was a member of the Notre Dame Convalescent Home Guild, St. Ann Club Auxiliary, and an active member of St. Jerome Parish.

                In addition to her husband, Angelina is survived by one brother; Anthony Buono and his wife Bridget, of Norwalk, a niece Maryann Madaffari and her husband Todd; also of Norwalk, and nieces, nephews and family in Italy.

                Mrs. Mattera is predeceased by her son, Patrick, a sister, Frances Buono and niece, Linda Buono McCallum.

                Family and friends may call Friday, February 7th, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue.

                A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 A. M. in            St. Jerome Church. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.

    The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Fingerhood and his associates, Norwalk Hospital’s I. C. U. staff, Dr. Frank and the staff at Whittingham Cancer Center, Masoncare Hospice, Case Manager, Nancy Crowley, the staff on the sixth floor at Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk Emergency Dispatch, and Norwalk Police.
