Anita Arenholz

May 6, 1941 ~ October 26, 2011

Our beloved Anita Arenholz, 70, wife of James E. Arenholz of Wilton, CT, passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness, Wednesday, October 26th, at Norwalk Hospital.

Anita was born to the late Ralph and Aurora Delgado, May 6, 1941 in the Bronx, NY and lived most of her family life in Darien and Wilton, CT.

While raising her family, Anita went back to school and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of CT. Anita spent her life helping others: as a mental health coordinator for Spanish speaking patients at Norwalk Hospital, arranging companion and homemaker services for older adults at Agis, Inc., as a coordinator for Catholic Family & Community Services and providing interpretation services at Norwalk Hospital.

Anita was a loving wife, devoted mother, nurturing grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. We will miss her sense of humor, strong will and beautiful smile.  The memories she created with all of us will be cherished always and we are grateful to the many people who helped Anita through her struggles and made her days more comfortable.

Anita is survived by her husband James E. Arenholz, three children: Denise Conley of Bridgeport, Michelle Harmon of Bradenton, FL, Stephen Arenholz of Stamford, three grandchildren, sister Adriana Gluck and brother Milton Delgado.

Loved ones may call Friday, October 28th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 29th, at 10:00am, St. Jerome’s Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, CT.  Interment will follow, St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.

The family is requesting donations be made to Norwalk Hospital Foundation

  1. Jim, we are so sorry for the loss of Anita. Please extend our sympathy to Michelle, Steve and Denise. It is so hard to lose someone you love all your life, even after a long illness, certainly she is more comfortable now. To look at you and the kids, and learn of her career and interests, she was clearly an extraordinary woman, wife and mother. Her pain and suffering are now done, it is for you to pull together and go on with your lives, cherishing her memory every day. As always, if there is anything I can do, please don’t hesitate to ask.
