Anne Finch


March 13, 1924 - April 21, 2015

Anne Finch of Norwalk passed away on April 21, 2015 at the age of 91. Anne was born March 13, 1924 in Montville New Jersey to Edmund and Bertha Chouinard. She was predeceased by her three brothers, H. William, John and Richard Chouinard. The family moved to Norwalk in the 1930’s where she met and married Fred Earl Finch Sr. (deceased). They spent many happy years together camping and enjoying the outdoors and raising 5 Children, Carol McConway of Naples Fla., Fred E Finch Jr. of Monroe CT, William Finch (deceased), David Finch (deceased) and Donald Finch of Norwalk. In addition she leaves behind 12 Grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Anne worked for over 20 years at Superior Castings Corp in South Norwalk as a bookkeeper and office manager. In the 1970’s she went back to school getting her degree in accounting at Norwalk Community College. After leaving Superior Castings she went to work for Neighborhood Housing Services in Norwalk. She retired but continued to work part time for Noroton Presbyterian Church and then East Coast Office Systems and Wilson Cove Marina before retiring for good at the age of 80.

Anne was an active member of the East Avenue United Methodist Church in East Norwalk, serving on many committees, singing in the choir for over 40 years and teaching Sunday School for over 60 years where she was affectionately known to generations of children as “Grandma Anne”. She also spent many years as a Den Mother for cub scouts in East Norwalk. In addition she was also an avid gardener.

She leaves behind a legacy that all that knew her strive to continue for her strength coupled with her gentle loving ways. She will be greatly missed by all.
