Dawn D. Mitchell Parmelee
June 30, 1963 - June 14, 2015
Dawn, also known as Dawnie, Delta Dawn, or the hot chick on the motorcycle to most of her friends, grew up in Norwalk, where she graduated with the Class of 1981 at Brien McMahon High School. She was born to Denise and John Mitchell on June 30th 1963. She enjoyed everything she did, and lived each moment to the fullest. The highlight of her life was giving birth to her daughter, Sarah, who she loved more than words can describe.
Dawn made a life for herself in Norwalk, before venturing off to Sunrise, Florida where she lived for the last twenty five years. She worked at Car 54 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida before retiring, and being an avid animal lover, kept her home filled with many cats and dogs over the years. Dawn loved everything from motorcycling, to riding horses, and traveling.
Dawn was predeceased by her father, John, and her sister Diane, both of whom she never stopped loving. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sarah, her mother, Denise, her brother and sister-in-law, John III and Shelly, respectively, as well as various other family members, including her Aunt Marie Bloom and cousin Michael Stanek with whom she was particularly close, in addition to her many good friends.
Dawn was a giving woman who did all she could to help those in need. For all those who knew Dawn, their faces are still lit up with smiles and laughter, for all of the joy and love she brought to family and friends over the years. Dawn will be sorely missed but will live in our hearts forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial of the urn will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
