Deacon Dean William Finch


May 1, 1946 ~ May 31, 2018

Deacon Dean William Finch, 72, loving and devoted husband of Beverly Bragg Finch and father of Stephanie Finch Bartkowski, the late Christie Ruth Finch, Sarah Allison Migonis, and Brittany Finch Prior, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home in Norwalk, CT surrounded by his family.  Born May 1, 1946 in Batavia, NY, he was the son of the late Francis Dean and Elizabeth Lacy Finch.

 Deacon Dean Finch graduated from Wyoming Central High School in New York and from the State University of New York at Albany in 1968, with a B.S. in Accounting and later received his CPA.  He served in the US Army from September 1968 through August 1970.  He married Beverly Bragg Finch at St. John the Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 15, 1973.  He was ordained a deacon of the Diocese of Bridgeport on June 24, 2000 at St. Augustine Cathedral by then-Archbishop Edward M. Egan of New York.  Deacon Finch’s entire diaconal ministry was served at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Norwalk.  He was employed by Star Group LP in Stamford as Director of Internal Audit where he retired in 2013.
 
He is survived by his wife Beverly and daughters Stephanie and husband David of Torrington, Sarah and husband Chris of Trumbull, Brittany and husband Philip of Stratford, and 2 grandsons Joshua Dean and Nathaniel Charles of Stratford.

A wake will be held on Monday, June 4 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Jerome Church located at 23 Half Mile Road in Norwalk. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Church.

  1. Bev and family, Please know that we are keeping Dean and all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately we are unable to make the trip north for the funeral but will be attending Mass tomorrow in his memory. God Bless all of you.
