Dominick DeSalvo, 90, of Stratford, CT passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 after a steady decline following a fall.
Born on July 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Theresa Tumminia DeSalvo and Constanzio DeSalvo of Brooklyn, NY. Dominick previously lived in Queens, NY and Floral Park, Long Island. He was a plumber by trade and a die-hard fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Rose Abruzzo DeSalvo; daughters, Marie R. DeSalvo-Tesoriere and Theresa M. DeSalvo-Brancato; son-in-law Vito J. Brancato, D.D.S.; grandchildren Jennifer Wolff, Deborah R. Brancato, Matthew J. Brancato, Alison J. Oakland-Brancato, Jacqueline M. Brancato-Kotos, Thomas A. Kotos, Jr.; great grandchildren Courtney M. Brancato, Lila R. Kotos Luke J. Brancato; sister-in-law Marie Abruzzo-Lucario; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 21, at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, CT. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:30 PM in the State of Connecticut Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Calling hours will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
