Services: A memorial will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Phillip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Donald J. Heilbron


Born January 23, 1947 - April 5, 2014

Donald J. Heilbron, 67, formerly of Norwalk and North Haven, CT passed away from ALS on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Masonic Health Care in Wallingford, CT.  Born January 23, 1947 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Norman J. and Anna Mae Clark Heilbron.  A graduate of Central Catholic High School in Norwalk, he enjoyed fishing, music, and his winter home in Bokeelia, FL.  Don began his career in the theatre business during high school working at the Norwalk Drive-in.  He later owned Roger’s Corners Drive-in Theatre in Pleasant Valley, CT for seventeen years before retiring as a manager for AMC Loews Theaters.  A polio survivor, Don was President Emeritus of The Polio Outreach of Connecticut, a support group for polio survivors and he also served as an Assistant Program Chairperson.

He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Heilbron of Attleboro, MA and her two children Toby and Jacob; and his sister, Debra Kasinskas of Bethel, CT, her husband Edward and their children Christopher and Jennifer.  He is also survived by his former spouses Sandy Heilbron and Irma Heilbron.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son David.

  1. Dear Family and friends, so sorry for your loss. Don is truly missed on Pine Island. In our mins eyes we see him dancing and running. It is wonderful to think he is without incumbrance. Good bless you all.
