Doris A. Katinsley

Doris A. Katinsley, 96, of Fairfield, Conn. died on Wednesday Oct. 26, 2016 at Carolton Convalescent Home after a long illness.

She was born in West Nanticoke, PA on May 26, 1920 to the late Maude and Calvin Cease. She was raised in Hunlocks Creek, PA, later changed to Ceasetown, PA. She graduated from Harter High School in West Nanticoke. Mrs. Katinsley married Bernard Katinsley at Hobbs Army Air Force Base in Hobbs New Mexico on July 21, 1944. They settled in in Port Chester, New York.

Mrs. Katinsley was employed for many years by Avon Products of Rye, New York. She enjoyed bingo, card games, and word puzzles. Doris also enjoyed many days at the Senior Center in Fairfield.

She was predeceased by her husband Bernard and a sister Edna and brothers Luther, Sheldon, and Calvin, Jr.

Doris is survived by her daughter Sharon Basone and her husband Karl Basone, two granddaughters, Kristen and boyfriend Dan Burbank, Lisa Sauer and her husband Matt Sauer, and two great granddaughters Charlotte and Carolina Sauer.

Special thanks to the staff at the Carolton Convalescent Home for their care and kindness, especially the South Wing.

A memorial wake will be held on Sunday, October 30th from 2:00PM to 4:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.

Services and burial will be private.
