Edith Marie (Cummings) Romsky

June 5, 1936 - October 14, 2011

Edith Marie (Cummings) Romsky, 75, of Fairfield died October 14, 2011 in St. Vincent’s Hospital.  Daughter of the late William and Mary Mihalovich Cummings, “Edy” was a loving mother to her daughter Debora Catone, and her grandson Jeff Kupsik whom she loved with all her heart along with Joseph Romsky, her companion of 35 years.

She is also survived by her beloved sister Mary Ann Durand and by two nieces and a nephew.  She was predeceased by brothers Edward and George Miller.

Edy lived in Fairfield her whole life and graduated from Roger Ludlow High School. She was employed by Pepperidge Farm and worked as a credit specialist until her retirement.

She had a heart of gold and would help anyone she could.  She loved her cats Velvet and Cookie deeply.  They were her family also.

Edy loved to read and always had a book in her hands. She love crossword puzzles and meticulously decorated her house for all the holidays. In Spring and Summer, she tended to her flowers and perennial garden, and loved her and Joe’s cabin cruiser, the “Foxy Lady”, where they spent summers, living and traveling in the boat, getting tan and hanging on the beach. Most of all, Edy loved her family and friends.

  1. Edy was a great person and a good friend. Always up for a joke and always out for fun. I enjoyed many hours with her and Joe on the water and at other SNBC events. She was a real definition of a good friend and we will truly miss her. She really loved Joe with all her heart and our condolences go to him and their family.
