Elias (Kolias) Papadopoulos

Elias (Kolias) Papadopoulos, 92, husband of Parthena Hiotes Papadopoulos of Norwalk, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Sunday, May 8th at Norwalk Hospital.
Mr. Papadopoulos was born in Russia and emigrated to Greece in 1936. He and his family then emigrated to the United States in 1965. He worked for Norwalk Hospital for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Norwalk and a proud Pontian Greek.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Parthena, his children Elenie Demetriades and her husband Theologos (Laki), Toula Kathrakis and her husband George, and Dr. Steve Papadopoulos and his wife Christine. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Kiki Demetriades, Irene Caldwell, Dina Athanasoulis, Christos Kathrakis, John Papadopoulos, Kristina Faraday, Elias Kathrakis, and Niko Papadopoulos and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 11th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
A Greek Orthodox Service will be held on Thursday, May 12th at 10:00 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, West Rocks Rd., Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
