Elza Lorraine Kolbay


April 12, 1937 - April 23, 2015

Elza Lorraine Kolbay, 78 of Norwalk passed away Thursday April 23, 2015 at the Norwalk Hospital. Born April 12, 1937 in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Elza Jeanette Balaz Kolbay.

A native of Norwalk, she graduated from Norwalk High School in 1955. She later graduated from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. Ms. Kolbay spent 48 years and worked in three different states, (MA, NY and CT), during her career as a nurse and enjoyed every moment.

She attended St. Matthew Church in Norwalk, served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, and was a daily communicant.

She is survived by two brothers, Steven Kolbay of Middletown, DE and Louis Vargo of Norwalk, and by a sister Ann Vargo, also of Norwalk. She is also survived by three very special Godchildren: Bonnie Vargo or Norwalk, Mark Thurnburn of Louisiana, and Steven Kolbay Jr. of Virginia.
