November 22, 1954 ~ November 16, 2018

Gail D. Burr, 63 of Norwalk, wife of Alan (Bo) Burr, passed away on Friday, November 16th surrounded by family.

Gail, a lifelong resident of Norwalk was born November 22nd 1954, the daughter of the late William and Phoebe Dunlap. To many Gail will be remembered as the friendly face on the sideline of many local sporting events, rooting on her husband, sons, and grandchildren, there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her loved ones. Others will remember her as the friendly face and warm smile greeting them for the past 30 years at Duchess Restaurant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons Alan, Russell, and Daniel, their spouses, Ivey, Maria, and Courtney, also three brothers Ron, Ed, and David. Gail is also survived by her pride and joy, her 5 beautiful grandchildren that she loved so dearly, Alan IV, Carter, Shauna, Emily, and Ethan.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 20, from 4 to 8 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave, Norwalk. A celebration of Gail’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 21, at 10:30 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 2 Emerson Street, Norwalk. Burial will be at a later date.

  1. Nothing so awakens our own sense of mortality than the passing of someone we have known in our own age group. When driving through Duchess Gail never failed to ask me how I was doing. She always wore a sunshine smile. I recall wondering why she was not at the window. Gail will be missed.
