Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 9, at 9:30 AM, at Notre Dame Convalescent Home, 76 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT. Burial: Burial, with full honors will take place, following the Mass, at the Connecticut Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Donations: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame Convalescent Home.

Garland "Bud" Howard


March 24, 1923 - July 5, 2012

Garland “Bud” Howard, 89, was a Norwalk resident and World War II Veteran.  Bud went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 5, at Notre Dame Convalescent Home.  Bud was born in Crewe, VA, the son of Julia Stewart Stoots.  He served with the 82nd Airborne Division in North Africa, Italy and Normandy.  He was awarded Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.  He also served with the Merchant Marines in Vietnam.  Bud was the owner of A&B Aluminum Products in Norwalk.  He was predeceased by sisters Julia, Norma and Margaret and is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
