George M. DiScalaNovember 13, 1950 ~ February 1, 2016George M. DiScala, 65, of Norwalk, husband of Janet Cocchia DiScala, died Monday, February 1st, at home. Born in Norwalk, November 13, 1950, son of Mary DeMassa DiScala and the late George F. DiScala, he was a lifelong Norwalk resident. A 1968 graduate of Central Catholic High School, George earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Sacred Heart University. He was a longtime builder and real estate developer. An avid outdoor sportsman, George was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club, East Norwalk Boat and Yachting Club, Stamford Fish and Game Club and a Life Member of the N. R. A. Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include a son; George F. DiScala and his wife Kyle, a daughter; Jessica Putetti and husband Kevin, one brother, John DiScala and wife Debbi, three grandchildren, Anthony, Macie and Luke, all of Norwalk A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 5th,, at 10:00 A. M. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, February 4th, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, from 4:00 to 8:00 P. M. Shocked to read in The Hour of George’s passing. I usually see him when he would visit Jessica and family in East Norwalk. Being in real estate and construction, I’ve known George since the mid 1970’s. George always had a friendly demeanor and kind words for everyone.
