Helen Norman Cahill

Helen Norman Cahill, 88, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Waveny Health Care Center, New Canaan. She was the wife of Lawrence Cahill for sixty-seven years.
Born in Norwalk, March 26, 1925, daughter of the late Walter and Blanche Hemsley Norman, she was a life long city resident. Mrs. Cahill was a Norwalk High School graduate of the Class of 1942, and worked in several retail stores in the area, including Harold K. Sheaff Jewelers. She will be most remembered for her longtime association with the former Kiddy Town toy store on Wall Street. Mrs. Cahill enjoyed the many activities at ‘Shorelands’, Council No. 46, Knights of Columbus, with her husband.
Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter; Kathleen Criado and her husband Juan, of Norwalk, two granddaughters; Lynn Hansel, of Danville, PA and Beth Geoghegan and her husband J. P., of Stamford, one sister; Kathleen Badarick; also of Stamford, four great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cahill is predeceased by three other siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, at 10:00 AM, in St. Jerome Parish, 23 Half Mile Road. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
