Jean (Jennie) A. Vingo, wife of the late Edward C. Vingo of Norwalk, passed away from natural causes October 25, at her residence at the Jewish Home in Bridgeport, CT. She was 95 years old.
Born on May 23, 1923 in Amherst, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Lenio Mientka. Jean spent her youth in the Amherst, Massachusetts area with her five siblings and surrounded by a large, extended Polish family. She married in 1945 and moved to Norwalk with her husband Edward, where she was a homemaker. Along with her husband, Jean dedicated her life to raising her five children, especially her daughter Marta. Jean volunteered at the Lower Fairfield County Regional Center, where Marta became a resident later in life. She loved being a center of her grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed cooking weekly Sunday dinners where her family would gather. She took pride in her home. She found great joy in entertaining. She will be missed but remembered by all whose lives she touched.
