Joan Woodger


September 23, 1929 - January 6, 2013

Joan Woodger, 83, of Norwalk, wife of the late Alfred W. Woodger, died peacefully Sunday, January 6th, at Norwalk Hospital.

Born in Rutland, Vermont, September 23, 1929, daughter of the late John F. and Alice Anderson Reille, she was a medical receptionist for many years. Mrs. Woodger had been employed by the practices of Doctors Robert Appleby, Dean Martin and Howard Eison.

Survivors include two daughters; Vicki Bove, and husband, John, and Cindy Woodger, all of Norwalk, one son; Glenn Woodger, of Annapolis, Maryland, and two grandsons; Jonathan Bove and Adam Bove.

Mrs. Woodger is preceded in death by a sister; Dorothy Kinney and a brother; Robert Reille.

Services are private.

The family requests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice.

    I am so very sorry to hear of your mom’s death. We all loved her so at Doctors Pediatrics.
    I had the pleasure of working with her for most of my 22 yrs. there. She was always a very dedicated and loving person
    and I will miss her. I am sure she is very happy to be reunited again with Freddy and can now rest in eternal peace.

    I was so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. She was a great influence in my life when I started at Doctors’ Pediatric. She helped make me into the person I am today. She was a very proud wife, mother and of course grandmother. It was my honor to have worked with such a caring and loving person. I will miss her very much.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with Joan for many years at the office of Drs. Martin and Appleby. She was an excellent office manager and good friend. Joan was an interesting person to know. Bill and I enjoyed some fun times with her and Freddy. She was an inspiration to me in many ways and left me with many fond memories.
