  • When I joined Getty Oil in 1977, I had the pleasure of meeting and working side-by-side with John. We and our families became and remain good friends. John was multi-talented in many diverse areas, all which he quickly mastered. There was no challenge that John could not rise up to, meet, and overcome. If you ever needed an ally, John was always there for you. He was a perfect gentleman who doted on his family. John was blessed by having two great women as wives who loved him dearly, took great care of him, and lived as one with him. John was the complete package. He will be sorely missed by Nora, his children, step-children, in-laws, grandchildren and the many close friends that John made throughout the years. I am forever grateful of having had the opportunity of making John’s acquaintance, befriending John, and maintaining a long-term continuous friendship with John. One of the best things, was that you knew where you stood with John. He would not hesitate to tell you the way things were – he was usually right-on-target. I will miss his friendship.

  • My husband & I met John when he fell in love with my dear friend Nora. He was such a good, kind man. Always made us feel so welcome when we visited them in Connecticut. I will never forget how he had been on a fishing trip when our daughter-in-law’s wake was being held. He & Nora took the long ride down to Long Island to come pay their respect. To me, that was so meaningful & special. We will miss him so much!!! He truly loved Nora & both her family & his wn family, of course. Nora, hold tight to all your precious memories you made together. We love you.
