August 15, 1936 - November 18, 2014

John C. Mitchell, 78, of Norwalk, husband of Denise Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the Bridgeport Hospital.

Born August 15, 1936 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late John C. Mitchell Sr. and late Lucy Tedesco Mitchell.

His passion was in aircraft. He ran an aviation business with his partner Pete and built model planes as a hobby. He also loved boating and was a lifetime member and past Commodore at the South Norwalk Boat Club.

In addition to his wife Denise, he is survived by his son John C. Mitchell III and his fiancée Shelly Bylek of Berlin, CT and by his daughter Dawn Parmelee of Florida and her daughter Sarah.

He is also survived by his other grandchildren John C. Mitchell IV, Jessica, Jamie, Shana and Tyler and by his sister Vivian Therrien of Arizona and his brother James Mitchell and his wife Gail of Florida; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Diane.
