Lydia Salvato, 82, of Norwalk, wife of Richard F. Salvato, Sr. died Tuesday in the Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Rose Kollar Antl. Mrs. Salvato was a lifelong Norwalk resident and had been retired from a local moving and storage company as an office manager. She was the secretary of her high school class, 1949 Norwalk High School, she was a long time parishioner at St. Joseph Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister and worked with the bingo committee. Mrs. Salvato was a square dancer, amateur artist and avid fan of puzzles, she volunteered at the Norwalk Hospital and Elder House. Mrs. Salvato was very devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons, Frank P. Salvato and wife Mary Jane of Greenville, NC, Richard F. Salvato, Jr. and wife Ana of Springfield, MO and Robert W. Salvato and wife Marybeth of Milford, CT; seven grandchildren, Kelly Marie Salvato, Matthew Salvato, Ann-Marie Lisi and husband Christopher, Jordan Salvato, Analynn Salvato, Jason Salvato and Jesse Salvato, great granddaughter Madelyn Ann Lisi, sister Phyllis Vetter and husband Allan of Womelsdorf, PA and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 28th at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 85 South Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
