Margaret Agnes Toth Kemény

Margaret Agnes Toth Kemény, 94, wife of Alexander J Kemeny of Boynton Beach, FL and Norwalk, CT entered the next world Saturday morning, April 25, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Norwalk.
Born on December 18, 1920 in Pölöske, Zallamegye, Hungary to her loving parents, Elizabeth Bakos Toth and Theodore Toth, she immigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada at age 7. She also lived in Branford and Toronto, Ontario where she completed high school and secretarial training. She met her musician husband Alex on a trip to the US and was happily married for more than 67 years. Margaret was an avid bridge player, gardener, baker and reader as well as an active member of the Women’s Guild of the Hungarian Reformed Church in So. Norwalk before moving to Florida. She created many a beautiful afghan which she donated to Crystal Theatre for their fundraiser raffles. She loved to travel the world with her husband Alex—especially when it involved seeing her 2 daughters Cheryl and Alexandrea Kemeny of Norwalk performing as the “Kemeny Sisters”.
Margaret is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, grand-daughter Hannah Daley, son-in-law Mariner Pezza of Norwalk, her “sister”-cousin Mary Kelly of Toronto and many dear relatives in Canada as well as Hungary. Before retiring, she worked for years as a secretary and bookkeeper for area businesses including Norwalk Tire, Katz Real Estate, Persons’ Reading School, Cherry Lawn School and Custom Swab, where she met her best friend of many years, Pearl Owades.
Friends may call, Wednesday, from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk where a memorial service will be held at 8 PM. A private burial will take place Thursday at 11 AM at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk.
