  1. Grandma, yesterday we gained another beautiful Angel and I can’t tell you how hard this year has been for our family with losing mommy and now you. I’m honored to call you my grandma and even tho we bumped heads so much because we were so much alike there was no other grandmother like you. You help our mother and father raise us and there was no better comfort then being with you and grandpa. What I remember the most about being your granddaughter was every morning before school you would have me lay on your couch and watch Saved by the bell while you made me breakfasts, or going to Grand Union with you and mom for hours grocery shopping and going down the same damn aisles over and over again while you ate your Cannoli that you got from the bakery. I know that over the past 10 years we didn’t see each other has much but as you know we were taking care of mommy who now has you.

I know that Grandpa, uncle Jonny, our mom (your daughter Thelma Cruz) and Uncle Stanley were there to welcome you with open arms and will be with you and never leave your side through this new journey that you have embarked on. Grandma please let our mom know that we love her and that we miss her tremendously every single day. I know you and mom were so close to each other and this just proved it. You could not live without her. I’m honored that you got to meet my daughter (your great granddaughter) and I am so honored that Nelly and I were able to be with you until your last breath. We would have never left you or Aunt Susie alone during this tuff time. Just like we never left our mother’s side until she also took her last breath.

The one thing about you grandma is that your were a stubborn one up until your last day and that is what makes me smile and laugh. We will never get to know a wonderful woman who told her pastor who came to see you and I quote “please leave, I’m to busy dying to be with my husband, son and daughter.” Or telling aunt Susie that you wanted to pass on Uncle Johnny’s birthday or before moms birthday and some how you managed it to have it your way once again. You passed away on Uncle Johnny’s birthday and were able to celebrate with him in heaven and on June 13,2019 you will be able to celebrate mom’s birthday in heaven with her too.

Rip in pease grandma! We will never forget you and you will always be in our hearts until we meet again!! Please take care of mom for us!!
Love always your granddaughter Stephaine A.k.A Tuffy!!
