Marion S. Dickman, passed away peacefully in Norwalk on Februrary 20, 2018, two days shy of her 97th birthday.  She was predeceased by her husband Laurence (Larry) B. Dickman and sister Ida Stein. Born on February 22, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York Marion was the daughter of Becky and Joseph Zimny and moved to Norwalk after World War II when she married Larry. She is survived by her children Caren Dickman of West Hartford and Howard and his wife Lynett Dickman of Ridgefield. She is also survived by her devoted brother Max Zimny of New York, seven nieces and nephews, their spouses and many grandnieces and nephews. Marion graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in English and German and was a substitute teacher in the Norwalk school system for over 50 years, finally retiring at the age of 91. She impacted the lives of over 1,000 children who entered her classroom and was well-known for maintaining strict discipline and high standards for learning. Marion and Larry were co-owners of Cards, Etc. in Stamford, CT. A lifetime member of Hadassah, she also served as President of the Norwalk chapter. An avid reader, Marion volunteered at the Norwalk Public Library for many years.
