Loving and Devoted Mother
Mary Alice Mucci Spero, of Norwalk, beloved wife of Lewis J. Spero, passed into eternal rest on May 11, 2014.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, March 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the Gulio and Italia Mucci. Mrs. Spero was a longtime Norwalk resident: a devoted Catholic and member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. Mary was a longtime fan of the New York Yankees, and it will always be remembered that she made the best chocolate cake ever for her children.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children; Angel Guman and her husband, Steve, of Naugatuck, Susann Perry and husband, Jim, of Waterbury, Barbara Loehn and husband, Richie, of Stratford, Rosemarie Ginter and husband Jay, of Hawley, PA, Lewis A. Spero, of Devon, Linda Spero, of Norwalk, Mark Spero and wife Linda, also of Norwalk, Anthony Spero and wife Diane, of Stratford, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spero is predeceased by a daughter; Gloria Spero Farina, three grandchildren; Sam Farina, Lewis Loehn, and Sherri Lee Rauley, a brother; Aurellio Mucci and a sister; Nora DiScala.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
