  • Dear Marie and family,
Monsignor Genuario holds a special place in our hearts of our family. To find a scholar with a common touch is to find a rare treasure and we were fortunate to have him as the pastor who guided our family through both good times and sad times, and shepherded our sons from childhood into adulthood. A warm man with a great sense of humor, he was both welcoming and prayerful – the Lord blessed him with pastoral qualities, for sure! Msgr. WAG was beloved by those of us who worked closely with him at St. Catherine’s and our family sends its deep condolences and prayers.

  • My deepest condolences, Marie and family.
What a wonderful life of giving. I was one of the altar boys that Msgr would take swimming and then to your mother’s house for pasta in the back yard. We stayed in touch as I moved to California. I would call or visit when I came east, and we would occasionally email. When he came to visit a few yrs back, I arranged for Fr Bill (as he asked me to call him) to concelebrate with a friend (another Fr. Bill) at his parish up in Carlsbad, since your brother was staying with friends in nearby Oceanside. He came to our home and we took him to an older San Diego Italian restaurant. I was pleased that he met both my girls, who are adults and married. I visited him when he was at St. Catherine and he surprised me with a reintroduction to my third grade teacher, who was on his staff. So many wonderful memories; I wanted to share a few with you as so many mourn, but celebrate a caring man, who stayed connected to so many and made so many of us laugh.

  • Dear Marie and Family – You might remember me and my brother Jack from the days when Bill and I were in the seminary, and we
used to go the movies on Saturday nights. Your brother was a great man, and a natural leader. We are very saddened to learn of his passing; but know that he has transitioned to new life and reward for all his labors for the church and greater community. God bless you and comfort you in this time of trial.

  • Dear Marie, Very sorry about Bill. I send you my condolences to you and your family. I don’t know if you remember me, my mom and myself came to your home in East Norwalk. Me and Bill we use to set up Mass in your home when we were 10 and 12 years old, many, many years ago. I hold on to the memories of Bill. I have been in California 70 years now and just lost my wife after 60 years of marriage. So I know how you feel about the lost of Bill. I have 2 daughters and 3 great grandchildren and 8 great granddaughters. My prayers are with you and your family.
