Services: A memorial service will be held on September 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Miracle Temple Church, 2 Trinity Pl, Norwalk, CT 06854.  The family will receive friends in the dining area of Miracle Temple Church immediately following the service.

Patricia Osborne


Norwalk native, Patricia “Patty” Osborne, 64, departed this life on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Her sister Arlene Osborne Applewhite, cousin Jessica Simms and nephew Michael Applewhite were at her bedside. Patricia was the youngest daughter of the late Ethel Osborne Caldwell, the late Arthur Osborne and the step-daughter of the late Willie Frank Caldwell.

During Patricia’s early grade school years , she excelled in her studies and was awarded a scholarship to the “now defunct” Cherry Lawn School, Darien, CT, where she attended until her 12th grade graduation. Patricia was a graduate of Quinnipiac College, Hamden, CT, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology.

Patricia accepted Christ as her savior in New Vision Ministries, in Bridgeport, CT, under the tutelage of Bishop Derek Calhoun. For the past 3-years, Patricia was attending Community Temple, Norwalk, CT, under the care of Bishop Michael Densmore.

Patricia’s last place of employment was the Jewish Family Servive Agency, of Stamford, CT. She was employed by a myriad of private sector employers during her professional career.

One of Patricia’s points of interest was her love of fashion. Pat had her own unique sense of style; which was created and presented by her use of scarves, necklaces, bracelets, shoes and handbags. She was the “bon vivant” of fashion. When Patricia stepped out, she was “poetry in motion”.

An additional point of interest was her love of travel. She travelled to the Bahamas, Barbados and Jamaica. Her ultimate travel destination was to Paris, France; which was realized in 2001; when she stayed for approximately 3-weeks and seriously considered moving to Paris.

Patricia spent the last years of her life doting on her grandnieces and nephews. She was a strong proponent of travel and cultural arts, and wanted to make sure that they were given that opportunity, and thus, Rockerfeller Center and ice skating in New York.

Known as an avid sports fan, Pat’s favorite teams were the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Pat was well-read and her favorite author was Mary Higgins Clark. She loved cooking, sewing and dancing.

Her favorite scripture was: 1 John 3:22; “Ask and ye shall receive, Ye have not because ye ask ask not.”, and James 4:2; “We have not because we ask not.”

In addition to her sister Arlene, Patricia leaves fond memories to be cherished by her nieces; Dayda P. Applewhite Krystle Smith [Stephon], Destinee’ P. Dinkins, M’Kalla B. Prezzie, Deja M. Redd. Nephews: Michael A. Applewhite, Michael A. Applewhite, Jr., Richard Dinkins, III and special cousin; Jessica Simms.

Additional survivors include Adele Fuller-Brown and family,, special assistants; Pauline Glee-Davis, Gigi Brayboy, relatives and friends, the late, Mary Rachelle Armstrong Wells and Tracey Peoples.

Special friends include: Carolyn Jackson Taylor, Gwen Hankins Hope, Deirdra Carmon, Barbara Leslie and Doreen Sundar, Quinnipiac College friends: Callie Bostic-Gardner, Paulette Branch, Gerry Prince and Ronald Rudd.

A memorial service will be held on September 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Miracle Temple Church, 2 Trinity Pl, Norwalk, CT 06854.  The family will receive friends in the dining area of Miracle Temple Church immediately following the service.
