Raffaele Di Meglio


June 22, 1933 ~ October 1, 2012

Raffaele Di Meglio, 79, husband of the late Angela Di Meglio, formerly of Norwalk, passed away early Monday morning, October 1, 2012 at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven.

Born June 22, 1933 in Fontana D’Ischia , Italy, he was the son of the of the late Filippo Di Meglio and Felicissima Carino.  He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1973 and lived in Norwalk for 29 years before moving to Orange CT to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren.  He worked for many years as a stone mason before retiring in 1990 primarily due to health reasons.

He then spent most of his free time tending to his ever growing garden or with his grandchildren who were the light of his life.

He leaves behind daughters Felicia Di Meglio-Schmitt and her Husband Ron, Maria Cristina Moran and her husband Fernando: 3 grandchildren Mikaila, Matthew, Grace, his longtime companion Lynn Torre, a sister Angela DiMeglio a Niece and a Nephew.

In addition to his wife Angela he was predeceased by his brother Nicola DiMeglio

Friends may call on Thursday, October 4, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Ocober 5, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk.  Interment will follow at St John Cemetery in Norwalk.
