April 29, 1923 ~ January 13, 2014

Rose M. Schiano, 90, wife of the late James Schiano of South Norwalk, passed away Monday, January 13th, 2014 in Norwalk Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Rosie was born on April 29th, 1923, in Newark, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Rena and Anthony Evangelista.

She loved knitting, playing and teaching cards, animals, and her weekly Hollywood magazines.  Her bravest, most courageous accomplishment was getting her drivers license at the age of 65 years young.

Rosie is survived by her son, Richard and his wife Patricia of The Villages, FL, and her daughter, Patricia DiCostanzo and her husband, Leonard, of Norwalk, CT; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.   She is also survived by her sister, Joan Migliarese and her husband, John of Westport, and Catherine Galassi of Cordova, TN, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Rosie is predeceased by her sister, Gloria, wife of Joseph Delius, formerly of Trumbull, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 16, at 10:00 AM in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
