Seymour P. Wiener


December 8, 1915 - December 26, 2013

 

Seymour P. Wiener, 98, of Norwalk, husband of the late Molly Wiener, died Thursday, December 26th, at home.

Born in New York City, December 8, 1915, son of the late Louis and Rose Wiener, he was a Norwalk resident ninety years. Mr. Wiener was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army; serving in France and Italy. He was in combat, wounded, and earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Wiener was a member of the Jewish War Veterans.           

Mr. Wiener was employed by Beldoch Popper for many years. Along with his late wife he was a long-time and active member of Congregation Beth El.

Survivors include one son; Rob Wiener and his wife Lisa, of Sacramento, California, two grandsons; Gabriel and Jonah Wiener, several nieces and nephews.

Services will take place Sunday, December 29th at 10:00 A. M. in Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue; Rabbi Joseph Ron Fish will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Independent Hebrew Society/Temple Shalom Cemetery on Richards Avenue.

  1. Irma & I are sincerely sorry to have missed the service but want t assure the family of our condolences. Seymour, along with his dear departed wJife, was a fixture at Congregation Beth El extending back to the time of Rabbi Schwartz– and earlier– and we remember both of them fondly for their commitment and for their important presence at so many events as well at our religious services. They will continue to be missed!
