Shirley B. Jackonice
April 17, 1920 - December 17, 2016
Shirley B. Jackonice, 96, wife of the late Chester W. Jackonice of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Wilton Meadows Health Care Center.
Born on April 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Frances K. Brown. A life-long resident of Norwalk, Shirley graduated from Norwalk High School in 1936 and worked at J. & J. Cash, Inc., of South Norwalk. She was married to her husband from 1942 until his death in 1969. After his death, she worked in the office of the Third Taxing District Electrical Department in East Norwalk until her retirement in 1990. She was an avid reader, an accomplished needle crafter, and was affectionately known as “Aunt Shirley” to many outside her family.
Shirley was kind and gracious, but also fun-loving … she asked to be remembered “with laughter.” She is survived by nieces Linda Anrico Putnocky of Midlothian, VA; Diane Brown Wenning of Columbia, SC; nephews Charles A. Brown III of Lawrenceville, GA; William E. Brown of Simpsonville, NC; cousin Nancy Daddona Cole of Orlando, FL; Margot Riccio Anrico of Ridgefield, widow of nephew Louis J. Anrico, Jr.; and seven great-nieces and –nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles A. Brown II; sister, Lucille Brown Anrico; niece Lorraine Anrico; and nephew Louis J. Anrico, Jr.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 28, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A prayer service will be held at 2 PM, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
