Wake:

The wake will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk on Tuesday, February 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Services & Burial:

A mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue on Wednesday, February 14th at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at St. John’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

 

Shirley Kelly Maurice


August 23, 1932 - February 7, 2018

Shirley Kelly Maurice, age 85, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018.  Born on August 23, 1932 to the late Thomas E. and Mary Jordan Kelly, Shirley was a life-long Norwalk resident and 1950 graduate of Norwalk High School.

Shirley worked at Nash Engineering; Giacomini, Halloran & Cecchini CPA; then for 20 years at Research Consultants, Inc. and the last 16 years of her career at Norwalk Hospital, retiring in 2011.

She was a devout Catholic attending daily mass and rosary and lived out the spirit of her faith.  No matter where or when you met Shirley, she always had a kind word or a compliment to brighten your day.  She loved listening to all kinds of music.

She is survived by her daughter Michele Ellis and husband John of Fairfield, son Normand A. Maurice, Jr. of Norwalk; three grandchildren, William Joseph Maurice, Cathryn Abby Maurice, Colleen Marie Ellis and sisters Ruth DiPietro of New Milford, CT and Veronica Mudge of Landisville, PA.

She is predeceased by her brother Thomas E. Kelly, sister Mary Healy and former husband Normand A. Maurice, Sr.

  • I worked with Shirley at Norwalk Hospital and thought the world of her. We had many good laughs during our time together and she always spoke so highly of her family. A wonderful woman. My condolences to her family. RIP, Shirley.
