  1. I did not know Tom very well. Our companies did business together. But I thought him to be a good man. Humble. Genuine. Interested in others’ well-being.
To God we all belong and to him we must return.
GTS. May you rest in peace.

  • I am shocked and very sorry to hear the sad news about Tom that I always respected very much. He was a friendly figure within the SEM. He was a sincere and honest person, he will be sorely missed. I have met him in 2002-2003 at the first time and I remember well, he was making joke very smiling when we were met again in Portland in 2005-SEM conference. For many years now, I believe that SEM became a friendly society thanks to him.

  • Tom was a colleague at Perkin-Elmer. I met him soon after he joined when he came over to England for familiarisation with the products that we developed here. We travelled together and I shall always be grateful for the time he spared my embarrassment as a quiet Brit by enthusiastically contributing to an authentic karaoke session in Japan when this was little known in the west.
I would like to extend my sympathy to Tom’s family and friends.

  • I am really sorry to hear this news. I knew Tom since he started working for SEM. Last year, he visited our home and had dinner with us. He was both a friend and the Executive Director of SEM for me. We discussed all kinds of policy issues regarding SEM. Under his leadership the society thrived and excelled in all its endeavors. I never hesitated calling Tom for advice or for information, and he always gave me his honest opinion. It will not be the same going to SEM meetings without him there greeting us. He will be tremendously missed.
We convey our sincere condolences to his wife Carmen, his daughter Jennifer (whom we have met over the years) and to his extended family.
