Wayne A. Bennett

April 18, 1941 - June 26, 2015

Wayne A. Bennett, age 74, husband of Louise A. Palumbo Bennett, passed away June
26, 2015 at his home in Norwalk, surrounded by many of his beloved family members.
That evening Heaven gained another angel; as he let go of his family’s hands, and took
ahold of God’s. Brought into this world on April 18th, 1941 in Akron, OH, he was son of
the late Wayne Bennett and Edna Allen Bennett Ouellette.

Wayne moved to Norwalk as a child, and decided to join the Navy during the late
1950’s. After serving his country for 4 years, he began a new chapter of his life.
Beginning his career at SNET, Wayne worked there for more than 25 years, until retiring
as a supervisor in 1992. During those years, he attended Connecticut State Tech,
obtaining his Associates Degree; while simultaneously working towards his electrical
license for the State of Connecticut. After his retirement, he started his own company,
Low Voltage Systems; remembered by many for his very own outstanding electrical
installations. During his retired years, one of his many passions was restoring classic
cars. Naturally being a hands-on worker, he took care of his cars with pride; the same
way he took care of his family. Wayne had an everlasting love for his American Indian
heritage; and will always be remembered as his family’s “Big Chief Indian.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Louise Bennett (Iacono),
granddaughter Amanda Iacono, grandson Ludovico Iacono Jr, and son-in-law Ludovico
Iacono Sr. He is also survived by his three brothers, Gary Bennett, Frank Ouellette and
his wife Elizabeth, and Russell Ouellette and his wife Gigi, all of Norwalk. He was
predeceased by his sister-in-law Phyllis Bennett. The entire Bennett family would like to
acknowledge the selfless care and commitment provided by Lori Braddock to Louise’s
best friend and Husband.

  • Thoughts of my Uncle Wayne will remain in my heart forever. He was always there for me and I could always count on him. I spent so much time with my loving Aunt Louise and Uncle Wayne growing up. My dad and mom loved him dearly. He was always there to help them. He was a very loving and giving person.

  • I wanted to thank everyone for the heartfelt words about my dad.
For those of you who really knew my dad you all know he would do anything for anyone.
I miss my daddy and can’t believe after all this time he is really gone.
I know he’s in a better place but when I walk into my parents living room nothing remains the same.
    Love to all, Louise❤️
