Wake: Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave, Norwalk, CT. The wake will be held from 9am – 11am. Services: The funeral service on Friday, January 17, 2014 begins at 11am (following the wake). Burial: Burial will be held immediately after service at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport, CT. William Francis Turner


March 15, 1934 - January 12, 2014

William Francis Turner, 79 of Norwalk, CT., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Carrie Mae Jackson (New York) and Robert Turner (Madison, Virginia) and his older brother Robert Turner, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 54 years Elizabeth Stanford Turner. One daughter:  Antoinette T. Blair-Millimono of Maryland. Three sons: Barry (Marie) Turner of Norwalk, CT, Gilbert (Lisa) Turner of Garner, NC and Van (Gina) Turner of Stratford, CT. Twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

“Turner” as he was known to most, was an entrepreneur at heart. He was a US Air Force veteran serving his country from 1952 – 1956. He was a successful painter who served the Connecticut area from 1966 until his retirement in 2008. His thriving business captured a host of celebrity clients such as, Paul Newman, Betty Davis, and Jack Parr.
