William James “Whiskey Bill” Corbett
Bill Corbett, 85, passed away Tuesday morning at Norwalk Hospital.
He was born in Yonkers, NY on July 5, 1925 and has been a resident of Norwalk since 1964. Bill was a graduate of Stamford High School and served during in both the Army and Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. Bill was also an avid sports fan and played baseball in his youth. He was retired from Dichello Distributors in Orange, CT and was a member of and past Commander in the American Legion.
Bill is predeceased by his wife of over 56 years, Dolores J. Koba Corbett who passed away on February 17, 2010. He is survived by his daughters, Stacey Neuman of Clearwater, FL; Robin Corbett of Norwalk, CT and Leslie Cavanagh of Rowayton, CT; two granddaughters, Erica Lang of Tampa, FL and Rebecca Cavanagh of Rowayton, CT; a brother James Corbett of Dallas, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
